Food Acquisition Director
Rebecca has been with Northern Virginia Food Rescue since 2020, first working as the Food Recovery Coordinator for Prince William Food Rescue before moving to the expanded NOVA-FR as the Food Acquisition Director. She received a B.S. in Biology from Wheaton College (IL) and an M.S. in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Sustainable Development from Antioch University New England. She has worked for non-profits, government agencies, and for-profit businesses to promote regenerative agricultural practices in all contexts, from someone’s backyard garden to a 120-acre farm in Egypt. At Northern Virginia Food Rescue, she will work to focus our efforts on the local food system. To support our local farmers, businesses, and community through food procurement, eliminating food waste, education, and advocacy work, all to create a resilient food system that can withstand global pandemics and promote food equity.
