Fauquier Food Rescue

WHO WE ARE
The Fauquier Food Rescue program officially launched in May! After expanding to Fairfax earlier this year, we identified a need to continue finding new food donors and food distribution sites in Northern Virginia. Fauquier County is different from our Prince William and Fairfax programs because it is a more rural area. We will continue to try to reduce food waste from stores and restaurants in the area, but will also focus heavily on trying to recover fresh food from farms.
We are excited to welcome Stephanie Campbell as the Partner Relations Coordinator for Fauquier County. Stephanie was born and raised in Northern Virginia. She has a Master’s in Public Health from George Washington University and has worked in the nonprofit space for most of her professional career. She and her family moved to Warrenton in 2018 and love the small town feel of the community.
If you know any food donors, food distribution sites, or groups interested in volunteering, let us know! You can contact Stephanie at scampbell@nova-fr.org
OUR AIM
Fauquier Food Rescue aims to address the disconnect between food insecurity and food waste by rescuing food before it is wasted and redistributing it to it to organizations that serve communities in need. Our goal is to keep food out of the trash and get it into the hands of those who need it.
